About BoiseBits...

BoiseBits Kids Run Club is an empowerment running program for kids ages 2-9 with advanced classes through age 14 (VarsityBits & ProBits). We teach resilience, integrity, teamwork and self-confidence by transforming traditional RUNNING games and AGILITY drills into powerful bite-sized life lessons. When children are with us, they are getting exercise, having FUN AND building strength of character.

Our program focuses on 8 core empowerment principles which we've put together to create a unique and powerful curriculum; one which combines physical health with strength of character. Each session has been thoughtfully designed to facilitate a growth mindset which pairs an empowerment principle with a running skill.  In class, the children are reminded that they are strong, powerful, fierce, and brave, which leads them to truly believe - they CAN, no matter how big or small!

Our main goal is to teach kids to never give up and to push past boundaries- because they are not real!

In ADDITION to our Original BoiseBits Run Club, we also offer:

VarsityBits Run

VarsityBits is our enhanced running class for ages 6-12 that builds on our original BoiseBits curriculum but with an added dimension for those that want a little more of a challenge. Elements of this program include more dynamic warmups and a mix of speed, agility & endurance drills. And still a focus on having FUN with our same running games & relays!

ProBits Run

ProBits is our most advanced running option for ages 8-14. Elements of this program include more extensive dynamic warmups and a mix of strength, speed, agility & endurance drills. This class is for kids who want to work hard, be challenged and learn how to run FAR & FAST. This class provides a great opportunity to enhance skills for other sports. Kids work up to a 5k by the end of the season.

YogiBits Yoga

YogiBits is a non-spiritual mindfulness program for kids 5-12. We teach children foundational yoga principles that they can apply to their everyday lives in a developmentally appropriate setting. As they wiggle, giggle, and make shapes children will learn to use breath and movement to calm and focus their minds while building strong bodies and self-esteem.

Years of home practice led her to desire to learn more about the empowering and calming qualities of yoga. She has a 200 RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) certification and is in the process of earning an additional 300 RYT certification with an emphasis in teaching children. When she’s not studying and practicing yoga, she enjoys teaching art to her son’s Kindergarten class and co-coaching her daughter’s soccer team.

Karen believes that anybody can practice yoga, and that through the joyful exploration of the body, mind, and breath we can develop skills that foster a deep trust in our intuition, create inner calm and enhance physical strength. Her favorite quote is, “If you seek peace, be still. If you seek wisdom, be silent. If you seek love, be yourself.” - Becca Lee.
